Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an investigation into allegations of questionable actions involving young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
