"We are working relentlessly to deliver that relief and to hand it out, but the size of the requirements is so enormous that we continue to see many thousands of individuals and children who are truly suffering nightly," cautioned one representative.
Long-Term Concerns and Agreement Terms
The second phase of the truce includes arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the withdrawal of military forces, and other provisions.
Humanitarian bodies have highlighted the imperative for "greater and continuous humanitarian assistance to respond to urgent and future requirements."
The war was triggered by an offensive in October 2023. Subsequent actions have caused a significant number of casualties in the territory, based on health ministry reports.
