The Streaming Platform to Bring a Popular Game TV Series from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest action-packed instalment that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for embracing action and madness with equal enthusiasm, all while presenting captivating, ideologically themed narratives. No wonder then that FX's new order for a Far Cry anthology series attracted two producers whose creations have represented all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game property, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' structure by featuring a fresh backdrop and ensemble in subsequent series.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we do not know what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners always encourages me with their ongoing belief and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone series. Every instalment is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a large-scale action show that can shift from season to season, while always exploring the core of humanity through this complex and unpredictable perspective, is a dream come true. I’m eager to partner with Rob and bring our mutual irreverent, daring sensibility to the screen.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
